It was a place for people from all backgrounds and walks of life to come together around music, food, and good times. Over the years, creators, activists, and newcomers to the city have lived and worked in the Central District with a spirit of comradery and community that is alive and well in the area today in the restaurants, bars, and other small businesses that make up the neighborhood.

Doreen’s Place, located in Northwest Portland, is a 90-bed short-term, housing-focused residential program, supporting participants during their transition out of homelessness. The program provides case management and connection to essential support services.

“Commodore Duchess has been the best place to live for grad school! I’ve lived here for two years. Great location, very quiet, maintenance responds to requests fast. Kirk and Andy (managers) are very friendly and respond to emails quickly.
