How is being a homebuyer different right now in King County and other WA counties still in phase 1?
Since open houses are not allowed because they typically involve multiple people coming in and out of a home, we are encouraging virtual showings first. Whether they are professionally shot "360-tours," the one below for my new listing, or a live video chat with an on-site agent, these can be very informative and can be very convenient as well!
A live video chat allows the buyer to get more detail about specific areas of the home they may be interested in, while also being able to ask the agent immediate questions about what they are seeing, much like if they were walking around the home in person.
Of course, if you're still interested after seeing all of that, you should definitely visit in person, keeping in mind that a few things will be different than you may be used to: only two people, including the agent, are allowed inside the home at the same time, masks and sanitizer must be utilized, and proper social-distancing will need to be maintained.
For a seller, you can take comfort in knowing that only fairly serious buyers will be visiting the home, limiting exposure while still providing a fully-featured home buying experience for potential buyers.
