CID breaks GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for largest dim sum dinner

📣 On June 18, 2026, the Chinatown-International District (CID) made history. More than 830 people gathered for a dim sum dinner that officially broke the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the largest dim sum meal ever recorded, surpassing the previous record of 764 set in Australia!

After a pandemic closure and years of delays, Seattle’s beloved karaoke institution is finally reopening. Founded in 1953 by the Seko family at the Bush Hotel in the CID, Bush Garden became a cornerstone of Seattle’s Japanese American community - known for its tatami rooms, its welcoming bar, and a karaoke scene that brought neighbors and regulars together for decades.

CID Block Party and Wing Luke Museum’s Jamfest are joining forces to create a larger, more dynamic celebration in the heart of Seattle’s Chinatown-International District. While JamFest remains in its longtime home, CID Block Party will move from its traditional location beneath the I-5 freeway to a new festival footprint in the neighborhood core.

🚌 FREE Waterfront Shuttle

From May 21 through September 7, Metro’s Waterfront Shuttle connects riders to major locations throughout downtown Seattle, including the CID, seven days a week from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. Shuttles run every 10 minutes on SEA26 soccer match days and every 15 minutes on non-match days. Anyone can ride! Find the route map here.
