Our Story
Thought to be one of his most famous efforts, Carolina Court was commissioned and owned by prominent Seattle businessman Claude C. Ramsay, and lovingly designed by architect John A. Creutzer in the Beaux Arts-Neoclassical style. Completed in 1915, the building and its courtyard garden are nestled in a larger park, with tennis courts and playground. Ahead of its time, it incorporated all the "best of" in regard to what apartment buildings across the nation and abroad provided: private telephones, large bathrooms, gas ranges and cooling chests, an internal vacuum system, steam heat, gas and electric lights. In fact, it is thought to have inspired later apartment design in the City of Seattle. Owned and managed by Epic Asset Management, Carolina Court is located in the dynamic, South Lake Union neighborhood. We'd love to welcome you home!
