A few years ago, The Newstand went up for sale.

Naturally, my entrepreneurial brain immediately had ideas. 😂 I called my friend & REALTOR®, Lori Burress, and said, “I know this is probably WAY out of my capabilities but I HAVE to see it.”

Lori knew me well enough not to question another crazy business idea, so off we went. 😂

The Newstand already held memories for me. My brother and I used to sneak down from my Mountain Gate home to shoot pool, catch up and dust off the day. It reminded us of the pool halls back home.

Walking through it after it closed was bittersweet.

And within about five minutes I realized…

This dream was WAY bigger than my pocketbook. 😂

Later, I told a client and friend about my crazy idea. He told his son, who happens to be an investor…

And he bought it!

Over the last few years, I've watched them pour blood, sweat, tears and A LOT of money into bringing this place back to life, partnering with some amazing people along the way.

One of my favorite parts?

He kept The Newstand name to preserve its history. ❤️

My crazy idea wasn't meant to become my project. Somehow, I just got to be a tiny part of how the idea found the person who could make it happen.

And that's what I love about being a realtor now myself and our community. Sometimes it's not about houses or realestate. It's watching someone see potential in an old space and give it an entirely new life. The twinkle in the eyes of a first time homebuyer. Are the extreme accomplishment in a new business owner's commercial purchase! And just being a little part of their story.

👉Don’t just compare prices. Check reviews, insurance coverage, experience, and exactly how your vehicle will be handled.

Take it from us... damaged rims are NOT the souvenir you want from your cross-country move. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

People keep asking me, “What did you do for your birthday?” 🥂✨

Honestly? I had a simple, quiet day at home… and I worked. 😂

Not because I had to. Because I’m in a season where I’m genuinely excited about what I’m building. I also stand by my commitments, I committed to a six week training, and one class happened to fall on my birthday! Soooo....

I worked on strategy.
Took some online classes.
Worked on my brand.
Took care of my clients.
Planned, learned, created and kept building.

Basically… I did what I do every other day. 💻☕️

And I’m perfectly okay with that.

This past year brought a LOT of change, and I’m walking into this next one focused on building the life I used to only dream about. One decision, one lesson, one slightly obsessive work session at a time. 😉

Apparently my husband has something planned for this weekend, so perhaps the birthday shenanigans are simply delayed. 🥂😂

But today? I was exactly where I wanted to be.

Quiet. Grateful. Focused. And excited about what’s next. ❤️

And thank you to everyone who called, texted, messaged and sent birthday love today. I felt every bit of it. 💕
