📍 Seguin continues to grow!

If you've been keeping up with development around I-10 and Highway 46, there's another project worth watching.

The planned Seguin Exchange development encompasses approximately 544 acres and is expected to bring a mix of commercial and other development to the area.

One of the biggest names associated with the project is Target, with construction reportedly planned to begin in February 2027.

Projects like these are another reminder of how much the Seguin area is changing, with new businesses, development, and opportunities on the horizon.

Some big improvements are officially complete in Port Mansfield. 🌊

The Port of Port Mansfield recently announced the completion of its new reinforced seawall and nearly 400-foot community staging dock, adding another major infrastructure improvement to the area.

The project follows the completion of channel dredging earlier this summer, which restored authorized depths from the jetties to the turning basin and improved access for vessels using the harbor.

For a community built around the water, improvements like these matter. They help protect the harbor, support the working waterfront, and invest in the long-term future of Port Mansfield while keeping the character of the Laguna Madre at the center of it all.

It’s exciting to see continued investment in one of our favorite little corners of the Texas coast.

Hunting season is underway in Texas!

October is here, and hunting season is picking up across the state. Whether you're heading to the deer lease or spending the weekend at the ranch, here are a few important dates to know for the 2026–2027 season.

Whitetail Deer
October 3: Archery season opened
October 30 – November 1: Early youth-only season
November 7: General season opens
November 14–29: Expanded doe days in select counties

What's new with doe season?

Texas Parks & Wildlife has expanded the antlerless deer hunting window from 4 days to 16 days in several counties, including Guadalupe, Gonzales, Caldwell, Wilson, and Karnes.

This gives hunters additional opportunities to harvest antlerless deer during the general season.

A few more dates to know:
November 1: Quail season opens
January 3, 2027: General deer season closes in the North Zone
January 17, 2027: General deer season closes in the South Zone

Remember that antlerless deer regulations, tagging requirements, and bag limits vary by county and season. Hunters in the expanded doe-day counties must also report antlerless harvests within 24 hours.

Before heading out, check the regulations for the county where you'll be hunting!

🏗️ More changes are coming to Downtown New Braunfels!

A new mixed-use development called The Neue is planned for downtown New Braunfels, bringing residential condominiums and commercial space together in one project.

The approximately $20 million development is expected to include 43 condominiums, with commercial space on the ground floor and an anticipated completion in late 2027.

It's another example of how New Braunfels continues to grow while adding new options for downtown living, shopping, and business.

Fall looks a little different in Port Mansfield. 🎣

October is one of those months that reminds you why people love the Lower Laguna Madre. Water has been pushing through the East Cut, redfish activity is picking up, big trout are still being caught, and October typically marks the beginning of the area's flounder run.

Cooler mornings, good fishing, and a little less summer heat... not a bad way to spend fall on the Texas coast.
