UPDATE: Sellersburg Water Lifts Precautionary Boil Advisory Following Water Main
Sellersburg, IN – April 15, 2026 – Sellersburg Water has officially lifted the precautionary boil advisory that was issued on April 14, 2026, following a water main incident in Jeffersonville.
The advisory applied to customers located north of I-265, as well as those on Coopers Lane and Teakwood Landing Drive.
After completing necessary repairs and conducting comprehensive water quality testing, all results have confirmed that the water supply meets state and federal safety standards.
The advisory was initially issued after a contractor struck a critical transmission main near 2950 Veterans Parkway, which temporarily raised concerns about potential pressure loss in a portion of the system. While water service remained uninterrupted during the incident, the advisory was issued out of an abundance of caution.
Repairs to the affected section of the main were completed promptly, and normal system pressure has been fully restored.
Subsequent testing has verified that the water is safe for all uses, including drinking and cooking.
Customers in the previously affected areas may now resume normal water usage without the need to boil water.
Sellersburg Water appreciates the patience and cooperation of its customers during this time. Ensuring the safety and reliability of the water system remains our highest priority.

Sellersburg Water Issues 24-Hour Precautionary Boil Advisory Following Water Main Incident
Sellersburg, IN – April 14, 2026 – Sellersburg Water 24-hour Precautionary Boil Advisory for portions of its service area following a water main incident earlier today in Jeffersonville.
The boil advisory will be in effect beginning at 3:30 p.m. on April 14, 2026, and will remain in place for 24 hours. It applies to all Sellersburg Water customers located north of I-265, as well as customers on Coopers Lane and Teakwood Landing Drive in Jeffersonville.
At approximately 12:45 p.m., a contractor reported striking a water main near a wooded area in the vicinity of 2950 Veterans Parkway. The affected main is a critical transmission line that delivers water from the Sellersburg Water Plant on Holmans Lane to the Town of Sellersburg’s water storage tanks.
In response, crews immediately isolated a 200-foot section of the main to begin repairs. Water service was maintained for all customers, and no outages were reported.
However, due to the potential for water pressure in the affected section to have dropped below 20 PSI, Sellersburg Water has issued a precautionary advisory in accordance with safety protocols.
The advisory does not include customers located along Holmans Lane or Allison Lane, nor those in the Oak Park, Fields of Lancassange, or Riverside neighborhoods.
Customers in the affected areas are advised to boil water intended for drinking or cooking for at least one minute before use during the advisory period.
Sellersburg Water will conduct testing to confirm water quality and will notify customers when the advisory has been lifted.
