Long winded post incoming but please read!
Today I made a decision that has been weighing heavy on me for months now.
As many of you may know, in February of 2024, I took a complete leap of faith and left my full time job to pursue a full time career in real estate. I started out strong and things were all moving in the right direction, but real estate is a momentum based business. My momentum got crushed when we were involved in a car accident that lead to numerous doctors appointments, medical bills, physical therapy and ultimately a knee surgery for my wonderful wife. We struggled through and I had a few closings during this time, but not enough to really take care of my family. Long story short, we went broke. I'm not ashamed of it. I'm actually grateful. Because of the strong start I had, I was able to care for my injured wife and my children and still had some savings to live on. But savings run out when nothing is coming in. And let's just say the cash flow was nowhere near positive, even with the few closing I had. I got a job offer about 7 months ago at a small machine shop in Anderson. My pride and ego wanted me to decline, but my family needed me to say yes. I accepted the job and have enjoyed the challenges and rewards that it has given me. So, today, I moved my license to "Referral Only". This means that, while I will remain a licensed SC Real Estate agent with Real Broker, I will no longer have the ability to sell or act as an agent. What I CAN still do is refer you to an amazing agent that I trust to take excellent care of you.
I am so grateful for the time that I have spent as an agent, for the life skills that I have learned, for the people that I worked with that I now consider friends, and most of all for my clients that made this all worth it. Thank you all!
This isn't necessarily where my career in real estate ends but for now, this is what is best for my family. We appreciate all of the support we have received along the way! For now, I plan to focus on my career as a machinist and focus on growing our laser engraving business Wild Oak Original Designs, Llc.
If you have real estate needs, please still reach out! If you need a great brokerage, let's talk about Real Broker!!
