Wool Carpet. New Zealand Wool Carpet.
This is a nice topic to me. I have actually been studying wool for a long time now. Wool is a great product. I like natural products. A while back, I was studying Wool for RV insulation. Wool is resistant to mold. It better for the indoor environment. As far as using Wool for Garments, I am a big fan of that. Wool is so warm. Don't get me started on wool. We can talk about how the Celts always had large wool blankets that they used as Kilts, not the dress style of Kilt, rather, the Great Kilt. 3 times the length of a man and about 3 1/2' wide, it keeps you 80% as warm when it is wet than when it is dry. The great Kilt is one of the best survival devices ever invented in history and amazingly it is largely forgotten about as people use synthetic materials now. Now I have kind have gone off on a tangent there but I am trying to share with you how wonderful of a material Wool is. It is handles sparks different than Synthetic materials.
But the real point of this post, is to talk about HOMES. Carpet, in HOMES. The video I have attached shares some excellent information about Wool and Nylon Carpet and I believe that the video is trying to stay objective. My personal opinion though, is that the wool carpet is going to feel more comfortable in the home. I like homes that feel a certain way. I once watched the Talley Ho show about the wooden boat that was rebuilt in in one episode the ship builder interviewed a wooden Boat builder and asked him WHY he builds his boats out of wood. The guy had several reasons but one fo the reasons that struck me was, that he said, you live in these boats and you are meant to live in WOODEN structures. Wood is life, wood feels different than living in a metal or fiberglass home.
So with that concept, you know maybe it is subconscious or a placebo but I feel like having Wool Carpets in the house is one of those things that just feels better. Its the way things are supposed to be.
What is your opinion! Please share!
