Good evening everyone,
I wanted to share on Saturday we had an issue with a pipe in the bathroom which has caused extensive damage to the main level as well as the game room below.

At this time we will be suspending rentals as we move into the recovery phase. I am hopeful that we can get crews in and start taking it all out, to put it back in soon. Currently the estimate time for closure is 3 months but we are optimistic that it will be much sooner and be ready for a Fall reopening.

To all upcoming guests. Please be advised there is currently a burn ban in the area. Use caution.

PRESS RELEASE: Update [7:00 PM] to Shell Mountain Brush Fire

[UPDATE 7:00 PM] Crews have 100% of the brush fire on Shell Mountain off of Jones Cove Road contained. The fire is approximately three (3) acres in size.

Five (5) structures were threatened by the brush fire, but none (0) were affected.

Crews will continue to work and monitor the area throughout the night.

Residents and visitors in the area may continue to see and smell smoke over the next couple of days.

As a reminder, Sevier County and the Cities of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Pittman Center are under a strict burn ban until further notice.

Just as a note, all future bookings with our cabin will require to purchase a damage protection option on the stay.

We have just had a guest sadly cause damage to our new dining room table as well as other items. We love giving everyone the chance to visit the smokies at a low rate so anyone can afford a vacation, but we also have to protect our home.

Our brown peacocks (Wild Turkeys) are in full plumage here in the Smokies.
These adrenaline junkies are known to hang along roadsides. Be a good wing-man 😉 and drive slow so they can strut their stuff to their lady friends.
Here are a couple of safe-driving tips within the National Park:

Always keep your eyes peeled on the road and the roadside. The wildlife in the park also like to use roads to travel.
Go the speed limit; you and our brown peacocks will live longer.
Stay in your vehicle, our wildlife is antisocial and prefer to stick to their own species.

Just a reminder for anyone visiting the national park. When parking in the national park for over 15 minutes, you will need a parking tags. Kiosks are available and visitor centers in the park. Sugarlands Visitir center has them.
