Location: Next to Dollywood, 3 mile Pigeon Forge, 10 Miles from Gatlinburg Area, Tennessee, USA

The cabin sits on 1 FULL acre atop of Parrot Mountain above Dollywood and Splash Country. Parrot Mountain Park is at the bottom of our hill! While here, you can listen to the Dollywood Steam Train whistling around the next mountain while watching the steam roll out from the tree tops. Also during certain times of the day you can hear the tropical birds singing from the Parrot Mountain Park below. You can literally drive to the bottom of the mountain (1/4 mile) and there is the entrance to Dollywood and Splash Country. We also have easy access to all the bypasses into the Pigeon Forge Strip and Gatlinburg without the headache if getting trapped in the slow traffic jam on the main strip. Instead, pick where you want to go and inject yourself into that spot from the simple back routes in no time. The cabin is surrounded by woodlands on all sides, except of course for the clearing of the view, have seclusion while still being in the middle of it all at the same time! We took a long time to find this perfect location. We did not want a cabin built on a shear cliff (if you have kids or a long night with friends, no need to worry about going skydiving unintentially), we also did not want a cabin built right on top of other cabins with the feel of having a cabin in a condo development (the whole point of getting a cabin is to be in the woods not another neighborhood). For us, we needed privacy and did not want to look at 4 other decks while relaxing on ours. We are sure you will also appreciate it yourself! A campfire pit in the front so you can roast marshmallows while checking out the daytime view of the mountains or night time lights of the Pigeon Forge Strip, and Gatlinburg Ski Slope, while still having the feeling of camping in the woods high up on the mountain ALL at the same time! Cabin is professionally cleaned and maintained. We provide all linens. Pets accepted upon prior approval, travel experienced dogs only please.

At Thistle Britches, you’re only four minutes from Dollywood, yet you’re at the highest cabin on the mountain, surrounded by 800 acres of woods and sweeping views across Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Smokies.

Bring up to two dogs. Spread out across two king bedrooms and two living rooms. Play pool, hit the arcade, watch for wildlife, gather around the fire, and sink into 56 warm jets. On scheduled nights, you can even watch Dollywood fireworks and drone shows from the deck.

Since opening in 2024, The Dolly Parton Experience has given Dollywood guests a unique opportunity to step inside Dolly’s life and hear her story in her own words.

It’s an area Dolly truly loved because it allowed her to personally share her journey—her childhood, family, career, music and the dreams that helped shape her remarkable life.

Now, Dollywood is taking that experience even further.

🏗️ A proper portal into The Dolly Parton Experience is coming, creating a more defined entrance into this special area of the park.

🎀 Dollywood will be expanding The Dolly Parton Experience onto Showstreet, creating an even greater presence for Dolly throughout the park.

Guests have already begun noticing new pink banners honoring Dolly, helping frame the area and lead visitors into this celebration of her life and legacy.

Inside the Heartsong Theater, guests can currently experience Precious Memories—six special videos narrated by Dolly herself.

And now, Dollywood plans to work with Dolly’s family to create a seventh video.

This new addition will feature family members sharing their own memories and moments with Dolly, giving guests an even more personal glimpse into the life of the woman behind the legend. ❤️

Some people become part of a place. Here in the Smoky Mountains, Dolly Parton is woven into so many of our stories.

We admire her music, but also the ways she showed up for others: helping families after the wildfires, putting books into children’s hands, and giving so much back to the community she called home.

At Thistle Britches, that connection is personal. Our own Dolly Pawton was named in her honor, and we’ve spent many evenings looking toward Dollywood from the cabin deck.

We’ve written a heartfelt tribute to Dolly, her generosity, and her lasting connection to these mountains, with a few of our own photographs and memories along the way.
