Dolly Parton was the background music to our life here in the mountains. No matter where we traveled or lived, one song from Dolly could ground us right back in these Smoky Mountains.
She was completely and proudly rooted and raised here, and she always remembered her people and her mountains.
With common sense, authenticity, humor, and love, she took on the world, and with God’s grace, she was able to use her voice and skills to genuinely help millions of people.
Thank you Dolly. We will always love you. 🦋
