Severe Weather Awareness Week begins this Monday! Shakopee Fire encourages everyone to take this week to learn about staying safe during Minnesota's severe weather, including tornadoes, floods, and more. Mark your calendars for the statewide tornado drills on Thursday, April 10th at 1:45 PM and 6:45 PM. Learn more at:

Severe Weather Awareness Week is April 7–11, 2025

The Scott County Sheriff's Office encourages everyone to take this opportunity to prepare for the severe weather season. This week is a chance to review safety procedures, build or refresh your emergency kit, and make sure your family is ready.

Statewide Tornado Drills – Thursday, April 10th

Drills will take place at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Sirens will sound across Minnesota during a simulated tornado warning. The afternoon drill targets schools and businesses, while the evening drill is ideal for families and second shift workers.

Minnesota averages 46 tornadoes per year, but in 2022 we saw 83. Being prepared can make all the difference.
