About a year ago, we became part of Minnesota Secured Title, allowing us to gain the benefits of a larger organization while keeping our local team and relationships firmly in place.

As the final step in that process, we're excited to share that Scott County Abstract & Title is now Minnesota Secured Title.

While our name is changing, everything you value about working with us remains the same. The same trusted people and the same high level of service.

‘Twas the 🌟✨ “Season to Sparkle,” 🌟✨ and our New Prague office did just that with festive window decorations earning them 2nd place for businesses in the New Prague Chamber of Commerce’s holiday decorating contest. Congrats to first-place winner Goldsmith Eye Care, and to the residential contest winners! We are proud to be part of the New Prague community.

We are pleased to announce that Minnesota Secured Title has acquired Carver County Abstract & Title, Inc. and Scott County Abstract & Title, Inc. effective October 1, 2024.

President Nick Moonen, Vice President Susan Malz, and their teams will be joining the Minnesota Secured Title Company team to create a stronger brand in the industry.

Minnesota Secured Title and its parent company, Title Midwest, Inc. have a strong understanding of the title industry and providing Service Beyond Expectation. With a rich history in the title insurance business and through direct operations and affiliates, they provide many services throughout the country.

These teams – along with the entire Minnesota Secured Title Company staff – will work together to continue to provide excellent service and strengthen our relationships throughout Minnesota.

June is Homeownership Month!

Join Scott County CDA in celebrating the value homeownership brings to families, neighborhoods, and communities!

In the month of June, the Homeownership Department will waive credit report fees to help guide community members towards the path to financial wellness with a final goal of purchasing a home. To get started, visit our website for more information and to complete an application.

The credit report fee of $15/person will be waived for all applications received in the month of June who participate in counseling within 90 days of applying!

Getting to know the owner...

Nick Moonen is the owner of Scott County Abstract & Title and Carver County Abstract & Title, he is also a Title Examiner at Carver County Abstract & Title. Nick started working in the title business in 2004 after graduating from St. John’s University. After starting out at Scott County Abstract & Title, opening files and typing commitments, he moved to Carver County Abstract & Title to manage the office in 2009. Nick deals with a variety of transactions including residential, commercial and bank-owned properties. When away from work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Stephani, and their four boys, traveling and going to baseball games.

Getting to know the owner...

Sue Malz is the owner of Scott County Abstract & Title and Carver County Abstract & Title. Sue has worked for Scott County Abstract & Title for 30-plus years, helping many files reach closing, including the most complicated ones. In 2013 she became part owner. Sue is a licensed Abstractor but spends the majority of her time examining files with accuracy being a top priority. When not examining abstracts, Sue enjoys playing golf and spending time with her family and friends. Sue and her husband currently reside just outside of Jordan, with their two sons.
