I've tended to be private on Facebook. Rarely do I share accomplishments or overly share my day-to-day life. If I were to share something, it would be either business-related, things of beauty like images of nature, mostly from my hikes and travels, or some "I got" that I felt others could benefit from.
Not all of you know I have been practicing life and business coaching since 2006. Most of you know I am a real estate broker. I've become licensed to sell real estate in Michigan since 1992. I still help individuals and families buy and sell real property but to a lesser extent than at my previous pace.
I have gotten reasonably good at coaching, and I Love witnessing a person take a significant evolutionary step. I have a growth mindset, meaning I'll never arrive as a coach, but I will always learn and develop.
For those who aren't aware of what a coach does, here's a definition: As a coach, I help people unlearn limiting beliefs and self-judgments so they can powerfully create their best version.
Humans constantly create in every moment, adding personal meaning to life as it unfolds. However, our limiting beliefs and judgments—of ourselves and others—prevent us from creating and being our authentic selves.
So, I do deep inner work with people, and we create miracles in their lives through self-forgiveness and self-creation.
I accomplish my client's miracles by asking powerful questions, listening with a coherent heart, reflecting, and never overlooking anything that could move them forward.
Last Summer, I enrolled in the Ankush Jain Coaching Career School. The school aims to help coaches create an impactful and sustainable coaching practice and change the coaching industry. Some say this is the best coaching school on Earth. Ankush Jain aims to elevate the planet's consciousness by elevating the skillset of coaches worldwide.
There are forty-six coaches in the 2024 cohort, all of whom are incredibly gifted human beings. Spending six months and three long weekends with these individuals is worth the investment.
We completed our first three-day weekend on Monday, September 9. One activity we participated in was creating our biographies and sharing them with a 10-person group. Ankush then asked us to share our biographies publicly. Sharing my personal information is complex, and it is harder to share it publicly than in our classroom. That's because I am afraid of being judged. And since all judgments, and fears for that matter, are created, I will set them aside and share away.
I will also share my "Document," a collection of invented statements that create my authentic self. The statements are not fixes for perceived flaws; they are cocreated statements of being that light me up. I recite my Document every morning and evening as a reminder of who I declare myself to be.
I'll begin with my biography.
I entered my Polish American family on May 9, 1957, at 9:24 a.m. I didn't choose my parents, our financial situation, the language my family spoke, or the socioeconomic conditions of Detroit, Michigan, where I grew up. After giving birth to me, my mom experienced postpartum depression, and that's when my conditioning began.
One of my earliest memories is of my mom and second-grade teacher, Mrs. Flanagan, completing a conversation about moving me from the smart kids' classroom to the dumb kids' classroom. It was at that moment that I told myself I did not belong.
In 8th grade, my friend Nancy told me that my girlfriend of six months, Marianne, had broken up with me. I was shocked. Marianne was my first experience in Love, and I heard about the breakup from another person. Nancy said Marianne's reason was I didn't do anything sexually other than kiss and hold hands. It was at that moment I told myself I did not belong.
Fast forward to my first year at Brother Rice High School, a powerhouse football and academic institution highly regarded in Metropolitan Detroit. I had few opportunities to play. When I did get a chance, I blew it. I played fullback on the freshman football team, and the coach called me to run straight up the gut, which I did, gaining 15 yards. At the end of the play, after the whistle had blown, I kept struggling for more yards and eventually got called for unnecessary roughness, a 15-yard penalty. Coach Yaeger was distraught, and it was back to the bench. It was at that moment I told myself I did not belong.
The default way of being, I don't belong, became well-established.
Since the age of 19, I have held leadership roles. I spent 20 years working for one of the country's top fine-dining seafood restaurant groups. After restaurants, I became a real estate broker. My team developed a reputation for high-quality service and was a model of excellence.
In 2005, I discovered the Landmark Forum. I enrolled in many Landmark courses and completed the curriculum for living in 2006. That's where I first encountered coaching. I went on to coach eight rounds in the Landmark Self-Expression and Leadership Program.
In 2019, I became a Certified Professional Coach after taking an extensive course at iPEC, an ICF-certified training school. Attending iPEC was like polishing school for coaches.
I joined The Ultimate Coach Facebook Group in 2020, followed shortly after by many Dr. Joe Dispenza retreats. I became exposed to Dr. Joe's NeuroChangeSolutions (NCS) training company.
In January 2023, I received a license and certification to teach the NCS Change Your Mind…Create New Results workshop, which provides a formula for lasting transformation. I have trained many individuals in the neuroscience and biology of change. My most fulfilling work has been teaching inmates in several California prisons.
In October 2023, I received a certification from HeartMath to teach their Resilience Advantage course. What I have learned about resilience and heart and brain coherence has been life-altering.
So what does all this mean? Everything and nothing. Everything in that I have moved from not belonging to a purposeful life of transformation, mine and yours. Nothing in that all the personal work only means something if I can contribute to another meaningfully.
So what do I expect from myself, and what can you expect from me? I am continuously improving my listening. This way, I can best support what people are up to. I champion and celebrate whatever brings another joy, happiness, and fulfillment. It is not my role to judge that value, only to support you in what matters.
I am the creator of my life and entirely responsible for the highs and lows, always knowing that the lows give presence to the highs.
I am committed to non-judgment, especially judgments of myself. By recognizing my judgments are not the truth and letting go of them, I create Love and magnificence.
My intuitive heart is vital to who I am. It always steers me in the right direction. I can do what is in everyone's best interest by tapping into my heart's intelligence.
I recognize how fortunate I have been to have so many excellent teachers. Countless individuals have contributed to my life in various ways, and it is all magical when I consider their contributions.
There is a lot more that I could say, yet this is what I shared with my group during school.
Here's my Document:
* I am a presence of Love, opening space for myself and others to evolve.
* I am whole.
* I am a miracle, and you are too.
* I am Love. You are Love. We are Love.
* I am clear that God has created this infinite world I share with you, and God is intelligence and energy, of which I am part.
* I am always doing my best, and you are too.
* I am gentle forgiveness of myself and you.
* The circumstances occurring in my life and the conditions of my outer world are happening. How I respond is solely my creation.
* I am committed to everything I give my word to and to everything I haven't given my word to if others expect my commitment.
* I create abundance for myself and others by giving and serving. Most importantly, there is no IN-ORDER-TO. I give to give, not as a strategy to get.
* I am a great listener, always hearing to understand, never drifting or planning a response.
* I am dedicated to people, including me, transforming their being so they can create anything they desire.
* I am steadfast. I will never bail on me. I will never bail on you.
* I am childlike wonderment. And from this place of wonder, I champion and celebrate everything that brings people joy, happiness, and fulfillment.
* I am generous. I create no debts, and no one owes me anything.
* I am a gentleman. The Loving-kindness I am has everyone feeling good, including me.
* I am thoughtful in all communications, spoken, written, and otherwise. I speak appropriately from Love. I always answer the phone with light.
* I abandon thoughts that fail to serve my being.
* There is no space for complaining in my life.
* There is no space for judgment or gossip in my life. I set them aside by recognizing that my judgments and gossip are not the truth, creating Love and magnificence.
* Every cell in my body is infinitely beautiful.
* My DNA is perfectly polished. My telomeres are lengthening, becoming revitalized with every happy day I create.
* I am deeply connected to liveliness, health, heart, breath, and well-being.
* I am healthy. I have one body. I eat right, don't drink, and stay strong.
* I am grateful for Penni, Jessica, and Ryan.
* I always rely on my heart to guide me.
* The multiverse is a safe place where infinite possibilities exist.
* I am playful and fun.
* I Love you, Mom. I Love you, Dad.
There I go—or maybe I should say, here I go. I've completed the assignment and will return to the classroom in November.
