Things are changing a hurry on our Ashland subdivision (Eagle Landings) with Hunsinger Builders, LLC. The crews with Simonson Construction Services, Inc. are making serious progress with a massive amount of infrastructure and dirt work.

Ashton (in the white Akron shirt) graduated from The University of Akron with his bachelor’s degree in Surveying and Mapping this past Saturday and a few of us from the crew were able to celebrate with him Saturday night. Ashton has completed two co-ops with us plus has worked part time through school. He starts full time this week and we are thrilled to have him on the team. Congratulations Ashton! 🎉 📜 👨🏼‍🎓 🗺️

It’s great to be part of the team for another subdivision project with Hunsinger Builders, LLC. and K.E. McCartney & Associates, Inc. We started preliminary planning on this site back in 2020 and it’s great to see it finally hit construction.

Jen, Jon, and Kim had a great time on Monday hosting 8th grade students for the Rotary Club of Shelby, Ohio job shadowing day. They collected data for a sample mapping project in the parking lot using robotic total stations and GNSS instruments along with some deed research and drafting in the office. I see some future surveyors in Brook and Aaliiyah.

Natalie has been part of our team for two years now and we are so proud of her. She started out filing, scanning, and other administrative tasks and has progressively taken on more and more responsibility. This year she started drafting. She will do great things in the future!

🎓 WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER GRADUATION?
After graduation, I will be attending the University of Akron to major in Civil Engineering, where I will also be a part of the Williams Honors College.

❤️ WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY FROM YOUR TIME AT SHELBY?
Most recently, my time with the FFA chapter. Our National FFA Convention trip to Indy this past fall was one I will never forget. We spent our time going from place to place singing and just having a good time. Those memories will last a lifetime, and I am forever grateful for all that the FFA organization has brought me.

🤍 WHAT WILL YOU MISS MOST ABOUT SHELBY?
I will miss the sense of community that Shelby has. I know wherever I go, I will build a new community, but the Shelby community is special to me. In everything I do, I have support from family, friends, and community members.
