There will be a multi-site, multi-agency exercise conducted on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with the Jefferson County Board of Education, Ranson Police Department, West Virginia State Police, FBI, Jefferson County Emergency Services Agency, Jefferson County Emergency Communications, Jefferson County Parks and Recreation, and WVU Medicine are participating in a drill designed to test agency response and protocols. There will be an increase in presence of vehicles and personnel at the sites involved as well as radio traffic in the initial phase. THIS IS ONLY A DRILL. This notice is sent out to alert the public that a drill will occur, while maintaining the integrity and realism of the drill for the participants.
