Safety isn't only about the moment you're with a client โ€” it's also about what you share before and after.
โœ… Don't broadcast in real time โ€” Avoid posting a listing's address or "I'm here now" on social media while you're alone at a property.
โœ… Keep your home address private โ€” Use your brokerage address on marketing materials, not your home address.
โœ… Vary your routine โ€” Avoid predictable patterns for solo showings, especially at the same property or time.
โœ… Watch what's on your car โ€” Magnetic signs and decals can tell a stranger your name and schedule at a glance.

First up: what to do before you meet a new client.

โœ… Share your schedule - Text a friend, colleague, or family member the address, client name/number, and expected end time before every showing.
โœ… Set a check-in time - Agree on a time you'll text "all good," with a backup plan if you don't check in.
โœ… Verify before you meet - Ask for a phone number and a quick pre-qualification call before agreeing to meet anyone at a property alone.
โœ… Park smart - Park facing the street so you can leave quickly if needed.
