In this video i show you my garage door upgrade, I have an old 7' non insulated door and it has never worked properly since i moved in. I have decided to replace it with a Wayne Dalton 2" insulated 7'6" door because i need extra height for my lifted Jeep Rubicon. I have the weekend to remove my old door, raise my door header, insulate my ceiling then drywall my ceiling and the wall around my garage door opening before Monday morning at 8:00 Am when Pioneer Door Company is showing up to install my new door. I have no time to waste so i had a friend (Marvelous Marvin) come by to help me out.
Thanks Marv

If you live in a seismically active area (like California or parts of the Pacific Northwest), retrofitting strengthens your home against earthquake damage. Older homes, especially those built before modern building codes (typically pre-1980), may not be anchored properly to their foundations. Retrofitting can prevent your home from sliding or collapsing during a quake.

Retrofitting your house foundation is a smart investment for several important reasons:1. Earthquake SafetyIf you live in a seismically active area (like Cal...

In this video i am installing 4" SDR 35 drain pipe around my yard to help channel water to my sump basin. This is my first time installing yard drainage and i decided to use 4" SDR 35 because i researched all available pipes and i think this one is the best for my install. I got a few quotes from drainage contractors and that really motivated me to make this a DIY project after seeing their quotes!

Are foundation cracks normal? What types of foundation cracks are worse? Vertical or Horizontal? Whether you should be worried about foundation cracks depends on the type, size, location, and progression of the cracks. While some cracks are harmless and part of a building’s natural settling process, others can indicate serious structural issues that may require immediate attention. Here's a guide to help you assess the situation:

Yes, large cracks in a pool can be a serious problem. They can indicate structural issues, such as shifts in the foundation or weakening of the pool’s structure, and may lead to significant water loss or damage to the surrounding area. The potential problems include:

Water Leakage: Cracks can allow water to seep out of the pool, leading to higher water bills, reduced water levels, and potential damage to the pool equipment that maintains water pressure.

Structural Damage: If the crack is deep, it could signify a structural failure of the pool’s shell or foundation. Over time, this may worsen, causing even more extensive damage and costly repairs.

Soil Erosion: If water leaks through the crack, it can erode the soil beneath and around the pool, causing further shifts and instability in the pool’s foundation, leading to more cracks.

Tile and Plaster Damage: Cracks can affect the surface finish of the pool, damaging the plaster, tiles, or liner. This not only detracts from the pool’s aesthetic but also reduces its functionality.

Safety Hazard: Large cracks can create sharp edges, which may pose a safety risk to swimmers.

If you notice large cracks, it's important to consult a pool professional who can assess the severity of the damage and recommend appropriate repairs.
