If your plan to buy a house includes buying an overpriced, oversized, Suburban home in a cul-de-sac community that is somehow supposed to represent "American Dream," then the New York Time's conclusion that renting is a better strategy is probably right.
But if you do your homework, buy a property that is reasonable for you and/or use a house hacking strategy to reduce your expenses, their conclusion couldn't be further from the truth. Take control of your financial future.
