What’s the story behind this beautiful NE Minneapolis bungalow? Lydia and I made an offer on it Christmas Eve of last year and closed in January.

We consulted with .co and our thoughts initially were to turn this into a upscale AirBNB - a shout out to for his wisdom in the STR world.

A prime location, walkable to the heart of NE Minneapolis (Fair State, Holy Land, Chimboraza, Dream Creamery…) the potential was there but towards the end of the remodel, we ran into some unforeseen financial hurdles and decided Plan B, selling was the best path forward.

Remodeling a 1915 home is much different than a 1950s home which we’ve done a lot more of. Nearly every surface inside and outside needed to touched: We converted the home from an antiquated boiler to forced air furnace and central AC ❄️ and added new sub panel and electrical through almost the whole home including recessed lighting with dimmers🔥, we peeled back 4 layers of yucky flooring from several bygone styles in the kitchen and bathroom revealing original hardwood. These were refinished and the entire home, including adding some new wood to entryway and splicing in new wood in many spots, was gleaming hardwood ☀️ Finally every surface on the interior and exterior were painted with premium Sherwin Williams paint 🎨

The final touches by our whole team, including our summer intern, came together just in time for a to deliver beautiful staging work (going above and beyond with the plaster walls 😌) and coming in with hot with fantastic photos 📷

You don't expect it because some times family doesn't want to mix in business but when it does happen it really is special! My sister-in-law trusted me enough to help her buy her first home!
