My husband now understands why so many people who grew up in the Richmond, Virginia area…
never leave.
And if you didn’t grow up here, that might sound surprising.
Because on paper, Richmond doesn’t always scream:
👉 “You have to stay here forever.”
But once you actually live here…
it starts to make a lot more sense.
It’s the way life feels day-to-day.
You’ve got:
– A city that still has things to do
– But doesn’t feel overwhelming
– Space to spread out
– But still feel connected
You can go from:
Coffee shops…
to the river…
to dinner…
to a quiet neighborhood…
all in the same day without it feeling like a production.
And over time, that ease becomes something you don’t want to give up.
Then there’s the community side of it.
People build lives here.
They find their routines.
Their neighborhoods.
Their favorite spots.
And it’s not hard to stay connected in a place like this.
That’s something a lot of my relocation clients are actually looking for—
even if they don’t say it that way at first.
They’re not just looking for a house.
They’re looking for:
✔ Stability
✔ Community
✔ A place that feels like home long-term
And Richmond has a way of quietly delivering that.
Now, does everyone stay?
Of course not.
But the people who do…
usually found exactly what they were looking for here.
