The Alana is the first of our RRDP-funded projects to break ground—and it’s been a long time coming.

We were only able to make it happen thanks to the support of a private investor. Traditional banks wouldn’t provide bridge funding, even with grant commitments in hand. That’s a huge barrier—and one that keeps small developers like us from fully accessing the programs meant to support this work.

And don’t even get us started on the material price swings and the labor disruptions from recent ICE raids.

But we stayed faithful. We held the vision. And here we are—back to our favorite part: making things beautiful so people can live better.

Strong bones. Fresh start. And a name that reminds us why we do what we do.

Behind the scenes at READI, we’ve been navigating the complexities of the HOME Investments Partnership funding process. 🏡

These funds are essential for bringing our vision of affordable housing to life, but they come with detailed reporting requirements. Each month, we are obligated to submit a progress report that includes:
✅ Percentage of work complete
✅ Scope of services
✅ Status updates
✅ Accumulated progress
✅ Problems encountered
✅ Additional information

Back in November, we submitted our very first reimbursement request—only to have most of it rejected. 😬 While frustrating, it was a valuable learning experience. We’re meeting with the City to ensure our documentation meets their standards moving forward.

Every challenge is an opportunity to grow and improve, and we’re committed to getting it right so we can keep pushing our projects forward. 💪
