Are you having a hard time saving money?

Working in real estate, I can’t tell you how many times I hear people say, “If I just made more money, THEN I’d finally be able to save.”

But honestly, I’ve learned it’s not always about how much money you make. It’s about how you manage what you make.

I’ve seen people make six figures and still struggle financially because their spending increases with their income. And I’ve also seen people making $40,000 a year who are disciplined, saving consistently, and actually building a solid life for themselves.

More money doesn’t automatically fix poor habits.

Sometimes we spend so much time chasing “more” that we never learn how to properly handle what we already have. The truth is, financial peace comes more from discipline than dollars.

Budgeting isn’t about limiting yourself, it’s about giving yourself freedom later. And saving money isn’t punishment, it’s preparation.

Your income matters, yes. But how you manage your money matters just as much, if not more. Small changes in your habits today can completely change your future later.

Raise your hand if you were ever told to use cash for everything. 🙋🏽‍♀️

Growing up, I was taught that paying cash was the best way to go and to stay far away from credit cards. But what I didn’t realize was that when it came time to finance a car or buy a home, having established credit history actually mattered.

Not all credit is bad credit. It’s all about how you use it.

So if you’re someone who has nothing reporting to show you can responsibly manage debt, this is your sign to consider opening that credit card and using it wisely. It could make all the difference when it’s time to get approved to purchase a home.

You do NOT need a perfect credit score or 20% down to purchase a home like the one below!

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is:
“I’ll wait until my credit is perfect…” or
“I need tens of thousands saved first…”

Truth is, many first-time homebuyers purchase with as little as 3.5% down and some loan programs even offer options with little to NO money down at all.

And no, your credit does not have to be perfect either.

What matters most is having a plan, the right guidance, and being willing to take the first step.

So if homeownership has been sitting in the “maybe one day” category for you, this is your sign to at least explore your options. You may be closer than you think.

And truthfully, is the answer always yes for every single person? No, it isn’t.

So when is the best time to buy? The best time to buy is when YOU are ready to make the decision to do so.

What I mean by that is this: it’s less about trying to time the market and more about what you can comfortably afford. If your budget is $1,200/month for a mortgage, then we shop for homes that fit a $1,200/month payment. It’s really that simple.
