Where I grew up it was said you can't wrestle a pig without getting mud on you. So, I have been sitting quietly while Jermaine Anderson (Jermaine Anderson Jermaine Lafleur Jermaine Anderson
he has several profiles) has loudly made false claims about me and my company, Lighthouse Home Rentals. Since he has recently started actually naming me and my company rather than just making vague references I believe I have to set the record straight.
Lighthouse Home Rentals is the trade name for several properties in town. One of those properties is at 622 Euclid, where we unfortunately allowed Mr. Anderson to rent an apartment. That particular building is owned by Lighthouse on Woodrow, LLC, for which I am the registered agent. Mr. Anderson has repeatedly claimed that we are a "scam" because we "don't own the property". He presented his "proof" in court at the eviction hearing. HIs proof was the document showing that Lighthouse on Woodrow, LLC bought the property at sheriff sale. I have placed excerpts from the minutes of that hearing here. To quote the judge, his claim that Lighthouse Home Rentals doesn't own the property doesn't "hold water." (see lines 11 and 12 of the minutes).
2. Mr Anderson claims his rent was paid and he was forced out anyway. See page 8 line 30 thru page 9 line 2. He admitted to the judge that he had not paid his rent. The "receipt" I have seen him post on other forums is the receipt for HUD paying their portion. Mr. Anderson's portion had not been paid for November, December and January. His portion of the rent, along with accrued late charges came to just over $1,100.
3. Mr. Anderson claimed he was forced out illegally and was threatened. We followed all procedures and received an eviction order from Judge Merckle and executed a writ of possession through the marshal's office. The closest thing to a threat was that I posted a tresspass notice on his door making it clear that once the eviction order had been completely complied with that he was no longer welcome on the property and if he were to show up he would be subject to arrest.
