company, has an immediate opening for a Heavy Equipment Road Mechanic.
We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with a minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience to perform
various heavy equipment repairs and routine maintenance at our Equipment Shop in Curtis Bay, Maryland and on
the road. This individual is responsible for performing a variety of skilled mechanic tasks involving minor and
major mechanical service of light, medium, and heavy equipment, trailers, dump trucks, and other power-driven
equipment.
Responsibilities
• Respond to service calls of job-site equipment such as dump trucks, excavators, loaders, paving & milling
equipment, air compressors, and other support equipment
• Understand and follow technical manuals, l**e orders, wiring and hydraulic schematics to ensure proper
diagnosis and repair
• Perform major repair jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, removing components, removal and
installation of assemblies and installation of components
• Complete minor repairs and perform services as outlined in technical manuals
• Perform all necessary repairs to keep our fleet in safe operating condition
• Maintain tools and keep work area clean
• Must be willing to assist crews when necessary
• Assist with maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles when necessary
Skills:
• Proven work experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment
• Must be able to diagnose and repair equipment
• Knowledge of Paving and Milling Equipment a plus
• Use of defensive driving techniques
• Ability to operate both a manual and automatic transmission
Physical Demands:
• Job requires the following motions: stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, walking,
standing, reaching, and squatting
• Excellent manual dexterity to use hand tools and portable power equipment
Work Environment:

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 2 years of verifiable labor experience working with asphalt and at asphalt plants, including general laborer duties. Must have experience operating a loader proficiently (2 years preferred).

Requirements:
• Knowledge of asphalt plant
• Perform basic maintenance and service on asphalt plant as required
• Cleans and maintain yard daily

We are looking for candidates with a minimum or 2 years of verifiable CDL driving experience to drive and maintain our new fleet of dump trucks, as well as work closely with our dispatcher to plan routes and track deliveries.

Responsibilities
• Hauling of asphalt, millings, and other materials
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Inspect loads to ensure that materials are secure
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Report defects, accidents, or violations immediately
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Must be willing to assist crews when necessary
• Assist with maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles when necessary

Skills:
• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• Use of defensive driving techniques

Qualifications:

• Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License and Medical Certification Card

Crew member essential to the application of asphalt pavements on highways, private roadways, parking lots and driveways. This is a highly skilled position involving the operation of a paving machine to compact various types of asphalt materials.

Job Description - Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Safely and skillfully operates an asphalt paver following all standard equipment procedures.
• Responsible for consistency and uniformity of material compaction after being placed by hand or with a paver.
• Maintains equipment in proper operating condition by performing simple preventive maintenance and repair tasks such as adjusting, fluid checks, replacing minor parts and lubricating equipment.
• Responsible for daily checks of water systems and scrapers on the drums.
• Must maintain an acute sense of awareness to the surrounding footprint of the machine (watch for obstructions while operating the equipment, such as ground utilities, curb and gutters).
• Maintain constant visual contact with Screed operators, dump man and trucks in front of the paver.
• Will be required from time to time to work with Transfer Machine based on the project specifications.
• Must perform general laborer duties as assigned.

Skill Requirements:
• Job requires the following motions: stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching and squatting.
• Requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Must have at least 3 years’ experience operating a paving machine.
• This job requires the individual to have a good hand to eye coordination and comply with all industry regulations.

Additional Requirements:
• Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crew can operate at normal efficiency level.
• Attitude, cooperation; must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, public.
• Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work required.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Work Environment:
• Physical ability to operate equipment under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time. Normal shift is 8-10 hours.
• May be exposed to extremes of hot or cold weather.
• May be exposed to vehicular traffic and must follow all MOT procedures.

Safety:
• Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition. Personal Protective Gear Provided, with exception to work boots.
• Hired employees will receive safety training and hence forth must always maintain the safety standards outlined within the company safety program.
