🐾Before heading out for a summer stroll, check out this great reminder from Kitsap Humane Society about hot pavement and protecting those precious toe beans. A quick check can make all the difference on a warm day!
Stay cool, stay safe, and give your furry sidekick an extra treat from us. 💛
You think it’s hot? Imagine if you were covered in fur.
We know you want to bring your dog with you as you do errands or make a quick trip to the grocery store, but if you love them, leave them at home.
It’s expected to get up to 90 degrees in Kitsap today, which means it’s going to be A LOT hotter in the car. On a day like today, it can get up to 125 degrees . The next couple of weeks are going to be too warm for your animals as well, and it doesn’t even have to get that hot to hurt your pet. Get this:
If it’s 75 degrees outside, your car heats to 109 degrees in just a half-hour.
At 107 degrees, your pet is in danger of brain damage.
At 120 degrees, it’s facing heat exhaustion and death.
Also, it’s against the law! If you see a pet left in a car on a day like today - call 911!
Check out the attached graphic for more hot weather tips and be kind to your buddy. The best thing you can do on days like today is just leave your friend at home with a big bowl of water and their favorite treat.
