Save Natural Gas in Washington
We need your help! Special interests want to make natural gas appliances less available by over-incentivizing electric appliances.
If they get their way by changing Washington State’s building codes, it will be cost-prohibitive for builders to install natural gas and propane for heating in any new homes.
Tell the SBCC and its committees to reject energy code amendment proposals that restrict energy choice. These proposals do nothing more than make homes more expensive to build and will remove natural gas cooking and heating options in new homes.
These proposals are bad for Washington and bad for our communities. They continue to put homeownership out of reach for us, our neighbors, and our children.
Ask them instead to explore better rules that will still let us reach our energy-use reduction goals without sacrificing energy choices.
Tell them you want rules that will be flexible and adaptable for builders to achieve energy efficiency goals without hurting our wallets.
