We’re celebrating the life of Dolly Parton and thank her for the incredible impact she’s made on Shelby County children through her Imagination Library📚🚂

In 2022, Emily Swindler helped Northside Early Childhood Center establish a partnership with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to make the program available to every Shelby County child under age 5. Since then, more than 3,300 local children have received books through the program, and 1,650 are currently enrolled.

What began in 1995 as Dolly's tribute to her father has grown into a movement that inspires a lifelong love of reading by providing free books to young children. Her commitment to literacy has helped open doors, spark imaginations, and create opportunities for countless children in our community.

Thank you, Dolly, for investing in our youngest learners and helping them foster a love of reading!🌈📖
