Had the privilege to be accepted into the Spark CDI Developer Academy in collaboration with the Center for Rural Affairs. Me and my new friends are looking to make a splash in affordable housing in our communities with the new knowledge, tools, connections and access to capital. My motivations are both personal and professional to become a developer for my real estate business and to impact my tribal community with Ho Chunk Community Capital (Native CDFI). Was a great week in Norfolk, Nebraska and I look forward to seeing the projects our cohort rolls out.

Closing Day! We made it to the finish line for my buyers on a great acreage in southern Thurston County. Has a major hiccup switching lenders last minute, but working with some fantastic patient sellers we maneuvered through some unforeseen issues with title. The day has arrived! Recall the day the buyer walked in and asked if I remembered him from when I worked in Land Management for the Winnebago Tribe. Of course i do! Been nearly 20 years since seen him but always had great conversations with many farmers of Thurston County back in the day. Share a story and build relationships.
