Average Real Estate Agent Pay vs. Other Best Jobs
Real estate sales agents make an average salary of about $53,140, which is in the middle of the pack for business jobs. They make less than less than sales representatives, who bring in $64,670. But real estate agents earn more than customer service representatives, who brought home an average of $33,370 and retail salespersons, who made an average of $25,370.

Many people want to become real estate agents because of the freedom and possible income you can make. Real estate agents can make a lot of money, but the average income for a real estate agent is only $39,000 a year. Such a low median income for real estate agents deters many people from looking into the profession any further, but there are many reasons the average real estate agent does not make much money. Anyone can make a lot of money if they work hard and have a plan. But compare the income to someone working for $10.00 an hour ($20,000 a year).
