This might be the most beautiful initiative we’ve ever seen. A shelter in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has adopted a groundbreaking model that saves two lives at once: they hire homeless individuals to care for their rescued animals. The Associação Quatro Patinhas recognized that people living on the streets often have a profound, unmatched empathy for abandoned animals because they know exactly what it feels like to be invisible and walked past by society.

Instead of just offering a handout, the shelter offers dignity, a paycheck, and a sense of purpose. The program focuses on "social reintegration," giving these individuals a chance to get back on their feet while ensuring the dogs and cats receive love from caregivers who genuinely cherish them. It’s a perfect circle of compassion—proving that sometimes, the ones who have the least to give are actually the ones with the most love to share.

THE NEW AND IMPROVED MOUNTAIN LODGE! So much has changed and new amenities added! Very exciting remodel includes: stunning new checking area, ski and gift shop, convenience store, Smart lockers, new flooring wall covering, owner controlled condo locks, gorgeous lodge lobby area with new, two sided fireplace, after hours check-in, seating areas in the expanded 1st & 2nd floor sawtooth/ sunroom ski viewing areas with expanded outlets for computer work areas, and lots more to come next summer! Mountain Lodge is THE place to be for convenient, slope-side; ski-in, ski-out stays. Ping-ping, pool table, glove skating, children’s jungle gym, adult workout/gym, and A beautifully appointed massage room with a professionally licensed masseuse. Many thanks to all those who have worked tirelessly and devoted so much time and energy to this spectacular renovation. The new Mountain Lodge- THE place to stay, THE place to own!

On the night of December 7–8, 2025, the world will witness a rare total lunar eclipse lasting an impressive 82 minutes — one of the longest totalities of the decade. During this event, Earth’s shadow will completely cover the Moon, transforming it into a striking blood-red sphere hanging quietly in the night sky.

This dramatic color occurs as sunlight bends through Earth’s atmosphere, filtering out blue wavelengths and allowing only deep red tones to reach the lunar surface. The result: a hauntingly beautiful Blood Moon, glowing in shades of crimson, copper, and dark orange.

The eclipse will be visible in many parts of the world, and the best views will occur when the Moon is high above the horizon during peak totality. If the weather is clear, be sure to step outside — events like this are rare, powerful, and unforgettable.
