This home was built in 1887 for the tenant farmers of the 600 acre Font Grove estate owned by a Director of the Delaware Hudson Railway. In a quiet location backing to woods in Slingerlands historic district, this home sits on an acre of land near to all that the Capital-Saratoga region is known for. Plenty of area activities include leaf peeping, skiing, hiking, biking, lakes, breweries, wineries

, Farmers markets, apple orchards, museums, theater, music venues, parks, historic Saratoga Racetrack and more. Across from the rail trail with easy access from this location to everything beautiful upstate New York has to offer in every season. 2 queen beds, 2 twins, plenty of space w/2000sqft. Michael and Kim are the happy owners of Grey Gables and look forward to greeting you upon arrival! Residents of the Capital Region for 30+ years, they purchased this home in 2015. Both work as Realtors in the area and very much enjoy working on what is the always ongoing project that is Grey Gables. We do live in the left side unit of this property and take great pride in caring for and renovating this beautiful home. Many Saturday mornings are spent exploring estate sales and antique stores looking for that perfect treasure that might fit into this ever changing project! Every time you visit you can expect to see something new somewhere on the property. Gardens are also an ongoing and happy project for the owners. Kim loves to cook and uses nearly everything she grows in her vegetable and herb garden. Between them, Mike and Kim have 7 children and 9 grandchildren scattered about the country, as well as 2 feisty but friendly pups named Token and Peanut, who you may see wandering around the house or napping on the porch.

Mike and Kim’s place was absolutely magical. If I could rate it 10 out of 5, I would. It truly felt like a home away from home and exceeded our expectations in every way. The house had everything you could possibly need — excellent cooking facilities, washing amenities, and incredibly comfortable beds. Every little detail had been thought of, making our stay effortless and relaxing. We visited in winter and the experience was special, with snow, peaceful surroundings, and beautiful wildlife adding to the charm- and a house that was warm and cozy throughout our stay. The home is perfectly set up for a family and offered a sense of calm and comfort that made it hard to leave. Mike and Kim were absolutely delightful hosts, and the homemade cookies on arrival were such a thoughtful (and delicious!) touch. I honestly couldn’t fault this place and would have stayed much longer if I could. We would be honoured to stay here again and will definitely be back if we return to Albany.

I don't usually write reviews, but I have to do it this time. This house is incredibly cozy and looks exactly like the photos—we truly felt at home. We were lucky to have snow, which made the whole experience magical. Michael and Kim were outstanding hosts, responding quickly and giving great local tips. They even left us delicious warm cookies that our kids absolutely loved!

The house has everything you need. We planned to eat out, but it was so inviting that we stayed in the whole time, cooking and relaxing. The backyard was like a movie; we saw birds, squirrels, and even deer coming to eat.

The beds were exceptionally comfortable (the master bed is the best I’ve ever slept in!), and every room has a Smart TV. Our kids had a blast building snowmen and sledding out back. Everyone we shared photos with was amazed by the beauty of the location. We didn't want to leave and now we see why this is a 5-star home. Thank you, Michael and Kim, for these memorable days!

We immensely enjoyed our stay at Kim and Michael’s place. We chose it because it of its proximity to Albany and Thatcher park. Perfectly suited for our family and friends to gather with a charm so incredibly comfortable, we immediately felt at home. It was easy to find and check in was also easy. We received a very warm welcome and Kim made sure we were well settled. Treats for the pup were not excluded, and enjoyed by the finickiest of little dogs. The property itself really felt rambling with so many outdoor spaces in which to gather or to wander and explore. We had great weather, but a cozy day indoors would be equally welcome with a big tv, lots of games and brochures of local activities to look at. Perfect to prepare a big family meal. Kitchen was well outfitted and clean. As were the bathrooms. I would love to stay again and I would highly recommend.
