Edit: I originally thought we were around 14–15 inches, but after checking the dimensions on my snowblower, I realized we actually got more than I thought (the snow was just below the top of the intake, and that intake is 21 inches). 🌀🥶

✨ Let’s Talk About Mortgage Payments — And Why Starting Sooner Matters ✨

One of the biggest questions I get is:
“Joe… what do mortgage payments even look like these days?”

And I get it — the numbers can feel overwhelming at first.
But the best way to understand the market is through real stories.

📖 Here’s mine:
Back in 2016, I bought a home for $150,000.
My monthly payment was $1,150/month, and at the time it felt huge.
I remember questioning if I was stretching too far.

Looking back now?
I wish I never sold that home.
If I still owned it today, I’d be in an even stronger position — and I’d have over $150,000 in equity built up.
What felt like a big commitment then would’ve turned into one of the best long-term financial decisions of my life.

And I’ve seen the same thing happen with clients.

In 2021, I helped a buyer purchase a home around $300,000.
Their payment was roughly $1,900/month, and they were nervous.
They worried they were “overpaying.”

📌 Fast forward to today:
That same type of home is selling closer to $400,000,
and the monthly payment would be around $2,900/month.

Here’s what most people miss:
