Sometimes you visit a place that leaves you truly inspired. Pal-o-mine Equine Therapy Center is one of those places.
I recently had the privilege of being invited on a private tour of Pal-o-mine Equine Therapy Center in Islandia, New York, and I spent much of my visit in awe of the incredible facilities, beautiful horses and extraordinary work being done there.
But what makes this place so special isn’t just the animals. It’s the lives they’re changing.
Founded by Lisa Gatti, Pal-o-mine Equine Therapy Center is a nonprofit organization that uses the powerful connection between humans and horses to help children and adults facing physical, emotional and developmental challenges.
Their programs support individuals with disabilities, children with autism, veterans, survivors of abuse and trauma, people affected by cancer, and families navigating Alzheimer’s disease and other difficult life circumstances.
Through therapeutic horseback riding, equine-assisted programs and other supportive experiences, Pal-o-mine creates opportunities for healing, confidence, connection and personal growth.
And behind it all is a woman with an extraordinary vision.
On my Secrets of Powerful Women podcast, Lisa shares the personal inspiration behind founding Pal-o-mine, the challenges of building this remarkable organization and why she believes horses have such a powerful ability to connect with people.
Sometimes the greatest success isn’t measured by what we accomplish for ourselves, but by how many lives we help change along the way.
Thank you, Lisa, for inviting me to experience this incredible place firsthand.
