Are sellers really about to “take a hit”?
I read the Fox Business article making (https://www.foxbusiness.com/real-estate/home-sellers-take-hit-rates-rise-real-estate-experts-say)
that argument this week, and I think there’s another side of the conversation….especially for those of us looking at real estate as both a business and an investment.
Higher rates absolutely matter. They change purchasing power and the cost of capital.
But I don’t think the takeaway is simply that the market is getting worse.
When the market changes, the opportunity can change with it.
What happens to seller expectations? Negotiating leverage? Properties that have been sitting? Deals investors previously passed on?
