Time for a market update. What an odd month May was! The only stat that makes any sense to me is Days on Market went up a little (2.6%) as on average homes are taking a little longer to sell. From my personal experience, when priced right, homes are still selling quickly. My last 3 listings sold in 1, 5, and 7 days respectively. And on the buyer side it seems like every house one of my buyers wants to buy gets multiple offers within a few days. Very odd. Anyway...everything else fell, average sales price dropped nearly 4%, closed and pending sales both down. Even inventory fell, leaving fewer homes for buyers to view.
Even interest rates are being contrary, actually rising nearly a 1/2 percent in the last month or so...against what all industry folk have said would be happening. Current rates sit around 6.5%, after earlier this year dipping ever close to under 6.
