Day One of the Heavy Metal Summer Experience is officially in the books at R.F. Knox!

We had a great group of young folks eager to learn, and our team was proud to help them get started with the fundamentals of the sheet metal trade. As always, safety came first. With guidance from some of our expert craftsmen, campers got hands-on experience and even started their first projects. Not a bad start for Day One. We can’t wait to see what this group accomplishes as they become more comfortable.

We’re excited to be part of the Heavy Metal Summer Experience this year - hosting campers right here at R.F. Knox in Smyrna from May 18 – June 24.

This isn’t your typical summer camp. HMSE gives high school students and recent grads a real, hands-on introduction to the skilled trades - working alongside experienced professionals, building projects, and even getting a look at active jobsites.

For a lot of young people, it opens the door to a different path - one that offers strong earning potential, job security, and the chance to build something real without taking on college debt.

If you (or someone you know) are curious about what a future in the trades could look like, this is a great place to start.
