It was a busy family Saturday, but squeezing in a quick stroll through Smyrna Depot Days was a priority. My littlest sidekick joined me, and as we walked back to the car she said, “I love going to your work.”

Yep. That one got me. 🥹🩷

Today was one of the busiest family Saturdays filled with soccer, baseball, and running from one thing to the next.

But even on a day like today, making it to Smyrna Depot Days, even for a quick stroll, was a priority.

I couldn’t bring the whole crew this time, so my youngest came along with me. We walked Front Street, took in the festival, said hello to familiar faces, and enjoyed a little time together in the middle of a very full day.

My family may not always be beside me all at once, but they are such a big part of the community work I do. They come along, they help, they explore, and most importantly, they genuinely love being involved.

Walking back to the car today, my little girl looked at me and said:

“I love going to your work!”

That one filled my heart. 🩷🥹

Living Local has always been about more than where we live. It’s about being part of it. And I’m so grateful my kids get to grow up right alongside me as we do just that.
