✨ Conference Recap | Leading With Purpose

One of the highlights of the Georgia REALTORS® Conference was hearing keynote speaker Inky Johnson speak on Leading with Purpose: The Power to Reset, Recharge, Restore, and Renew.

His message was such a great reminder that sometimes we get so busy doing that we forget to stop and ask ourselves why we’re doing it.

This conference gave me an opportunity not only to learn and grow professionally, but also to reset, recharge, and come home with a renewed sense of purpose. ❤️

One question I’m taking with me:

Am I just staying busy, or am I being intentional about where I’m going?

Great message. Great conference. And definitely some lessons I’ll be carrying with me. 🙌🏽

One of the highlights of the Georgia REALTORS® Conference was hearing our keynote speaker, Inky Johnson, speak on Leading with Purpose: The Power to Reset, Recharge, Restore, and Renew.

If you’ve ever heard Inky speak, you know he doesn’t just motivate you—he makes you THINK.

One of my biggest takeaways was the importance of remembering why you started and what you’re working toward. In business and in life, it’s easy to get so caught up in the day-to-day responsibilities that we forget to stop, reset, and make sure we’re still moving with purpose.

For me, this conference wasn’t just about learning new things to bring back to my real estate business. It was also an opportunity to recharge, gain a fresh perspective, and come home ready to apply what I learned.

As REALTORS®, business owners, parents, leaders, and people serving our communities, we pour so much into other people. Sometimes we need that reminder to restore ourselves, renew our commitment to our purpose, and keep going—even when the journey doesn’t look exactly like we planned.

I’m leaving this one with a question I’m asking myself too:

Am I just staying busy, or am I being intentional about where I’m going?

Such a powerful way to start the conference. ❤️

🏡 Real Estate Conference Recap: Increase Your Wealth with Rentals & Other Investment Properties

One of my favorite classes from the conference was all about building wealth through rental and investment properties.

One thing that really stood out to me was the discussion about how much rental prices have increased over time and the opportunities that can create for real estate investors. We also talked about targeting an 8% return when analyzing potential rental investments.

But one of my biggest takeaways was this: Not every investor has the same goal.

Before recommending an investment property, we need to understand what the client is really trying to accomplish.

Are they looking for cash flow today?
Are they focused more on long-term appreciation and wealth building?
Are they looking for tax advantages and additional financial options?
Or are they building a portfolio that can help fund retirement—or even their children’s future education?

We also discussed using a rent-to-value comparison to help determine whether a property makes sense as an investment.

I loved the idea of helping people look at real estate differently:

🏠 Buy a rental property and let your tenants help fund your retirement.
🎓 Build an investment that could help pay for your children’s college.
💰 Use real estate as another avenue for building long-term wealth.

Rental real estate isn’t just about collecting rent. When purchased strategically, it can become part of a much bigger financial plan.

This class definitely gave me some new ideas for how I can better educate and serve clients who are interested in becoming real estate investors.
