Between the 4th of July holiday weekend and the crazy weather our area experienced, it is no surprise that last week saw huge decrease in showings. However, the buyers who DID see houses were clearly there for business!! New purchase contracts were up 12.5% from the week before -- and 18.9% from last year😳🤩🎉 Days on market also dropped by a stunning 15 days, putting the median at 26 days.

Last week in Southern Maryland saw a 9% increase in new purchase contracts, even while new listings for the week dropped by 9.1%. We are one of only 3 subregions in the Mid-Atlantic Bright MLS service area who saw a decrease in new listings last week -- the other two being Washington Metro and Maryland Eastern Shore.
