Ever wanted to go to art school without committing to a semester?

One Night Art School transformed 10 Prospect into a hands-on arts campus where guests could try everything from figure drawing and printmaking to dance, juggling, painting, and clay, all in a single evening.

One Night Art School is the first large-scale public collaboration presented by Somerville Arts Engine, a coalition of local arts organizations and creative businesses working together to strengthen and celebrate Somerville’s creative community.

In partnership with Union Square and with support from the Somerville Arts & Culture, the event brought together Somerville’s arts community, and invited the public to experience its creativity firsthand while showcasing what’s possible when artists, community organizations, and local partners work together.

Head over to Center for Arts at the Armory this Friday for the Feet Keep the Beat Festival, ROOTS & WINGS: The Next Generation.

ROOTS & WINGS tells the story of how feet have been keeping the beat across time, cultures, and geographies.

The featured artists will deepen their collaboration this year by sharing the stage with the next generation. Some will perform alongside their children, while others are joined by their students, creating a powerful celebration of artistic inheritance, mentorship, and renewal.
