A judge just told Zillow 🏡 that if they use MLS data, they can’t pick & choose which listings to hide 🚫

Zillow originally refused to display some listings, which is what started the whole fight with MRED in the first place.

If a home disappears from Zillow, it may still be active and for sale 🏠

Real estate drama 👀

MRED (our local MLS) is threatening to cut off Zillow and Trulia from getting listing data because Zillow is allegedly hiding some listings instead of showing all active homes equally.

If this happens, some homes may temporarily disappear from Zillow/Trulia even though they are still FOR SALE and active in the MLS.

Important reminder: Zillow is NOT the MLS.

Your agent still has access to the full market even if a home is not showing on Zillow.

Pay attention to the road!

⚠️ In 2023, cell phone use was a factor in more than 2,500 roadway crashes in Illinois, resulting in 15 deaths and more than 1,000 injuries.

From September 3-30, the Wheaton Police Department will be participating in a statewide distracted driving traffic safety campaign grant-funded by Illinois Department of Transportation. You will see increased enforcement efforts as officers stop and ticket anyone who violates distracted driving and other Illinois motor vehicle laws.

⭐ The Wheaton Police Department asks parents and trusted adults of teen drivers to set an example by not texting and driving, and remind their teens of the significant danger cell phone use plays when driving. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, teen drivers who text behind the wheel are 23 times more likely to be involved in a crash.

Could it be luck? 🍀 Nope… this one was 100% skill, persistence, and a whole lot of divine intervention. 😅

We just locked down a beautiful new home for my clients — with $19K OFF the asking price 💰

Illinois’ already-high motor fuel tax is going up again:
• Gas: from 45¢ ➡️ 48.3¢/gallon
• Diesel: from 54¢ ➡️ 55¢/gallon

🏨 **Ban on Small Plastic Bottles in Hotels**
Hotels with 50+ rooms can no longer provide small single-use plastic toiletry bottles (under 6 oz). Smaller hotels have until Jan 1, 2026.

🏘️ **Sales Tax on Leased Property**
New rules mean *lessors can now charge sales tax* on lease/rental payments instead of paying it up front — this could impact business owners and renters alike.
