I found this kind of interesting. Just a few fun facts about Dutch Colonial houses.

The Dutch Colonial House

The Dutch Colonial style home is often characterized by a distinct gambrel style roof, which is a roof with two distinct angles on each side. The double pitched roof sets the Dutch style apart from the more widely seen English colonial styles which feature a more traditional roof.

The Dutch colonial style had its start very early on in American, or more precisely pre-American, History. The Dutch colonized the areas of what is now New York and New Jersey before the English. In fact, New York was first named New Netherlands until the British annexed the region and renamed it. The architectural style the Dutch settlers brought with them remained and flourished throughout New England, and subsequently in the period of colonial revival that roughly spanned from the 1920’s to 1950’s.

Dutch colonials can be found all over New England with high concentrations in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey.

Some areas of the US are seeing dramatic home price cuts.....even as high as 20%!.....some house price drops mirror what we are seeing in oil: after dramatic price surges, often dramatic corrections follow. Oil is down 22% in a month.....but had jumped over 42% in the past 6 months! The forces of markets often apply to everything!

Agrivoltaics? Yes, farmers are finding a new source of income leasing out land to create solar farms....above their crops. The panels cool the crops from excessive heat, and the plants keep the panels cooler too.....all generating electricity closer to homes without the huge expense of transporting power long distances.

Interesting facts about some of the real estate companies debts. It's nice to know that Compass has zero debt.

Corporate debt outstanding by nonfinancial companies is at an all-time high of nearly $12 trillion today ....nearly triple the total two decades ago ....but COMPASS has ZERO debt except for some outstanding Concierge financing. Redfin has about $1.2 billion in longterm debt... Zillow $1,3 billion... Douglas Elliman $176 million....Anywhere(Corcoran, Coldwell Banker, Sothebys, etc) $2,95 billion.... EXP $2,7 billion.
