My grandfather, Leonard Chace Sr. formed the original Chace Realty at some point in the 1930/40s (not exactly sure when) to mainly manage land that his auto dealership was on, but also to buy and develop land to sell to consumers for custom homes and also builders for spec houses.
In the 1960s he teamed up with Ed Goodhue who owned Goodhue Lumber Co. to develop a few real estate projects in Lakeville, Freetown and Rochester. One of the communities was “Parkhurst” located on the northern section on Long Pond in Lakeville. They came up with the idea after visiting a friend in Florida who lived on a canal off the inter coastal.
Here are a couple of marketing brochures from 1965.
I’m pretty sure there are a “few” more hoops that you would have to jump through to make this happen in 2023.
