The housing market update for September shows steady sales prices and a slight increase in days on the market. The number of sales for the month is down along with the number of new listings available. Lower inventory leads to increased home prices, but higher interest rates are still causing buyers to hold off on new purchases.

If you are considering a home purchase, remember, that you can refinance your loan. Don't wait around for lower rates while prices increase.

Home stats from July are in and they are showing some market improvements. Median home prices for single-family homes have continued to increase month over month, while the median days on the market have stayed below 30 days. Inventory remains low overall with fewer homes hitting the market than July of last year.

Rates may be high, but buying a home now is still a good idea. Don't wait until rates come down and home prices increase more rapidly. You can always refinance a mortgage in the future after locking in the best home price today.
