September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Did you know that approximately 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20?
I am so grateful that Luc is still with us, despite an incurable sarcoma. It was rough on all of us, but especially on him, to go through all the years of treatments and surgeries. Luc is lucky that he is able to keep this tumor pretty stable now through diet and exercise. Many others are not so lucky.
It is vital that research continues to determine the underlying causes of these cancers that are afflicting our children. I am thankful for the treatments available that have advanced and improved outcomes over the years. I have hope one day the research being done by doctors and scientists will result in preventative measures so these precious children don't have to suffer through such agonizing treatments.
