Everything looked fine… then the insulation got pulled out.
Hidden fungal growth was still present within portions of the wall assembly despite the area reportedly being “taken care of.”
This is why clearance and proper verification matter.
Just because materials look clean from the outside doesn’t necessarily mean the underlying moisture issue was resolved — or that all impacted materials were properly addressed.
One of the most common problems we see:
• Wet insulation left inside wall cavities
• Partial material removal
• No containment
• Framing left with elevated moisture
• Areas closed back up before assemblies fully dried
Moisture problems are building science problems, not cosmetic problems.
The goal shouldn’t just be to make things look clean. The goal is returning the structure back to a normal, dry condition.
If something still feels off after remediation, trust your gut and get a second opinion.
