If you or someone you love is 65 or older and owns a home in New Jersey, this is worth reading.

New Jersey's Senior Freeze program, formally called the Property Tax Reimbursement Program, may reimburse eligible seniors and disabled residents for increases in their property taxes. The idea is simple: once you qualify, your property tax burden is essentially frozen at a base-year amount, and future increases may be reimbursed as long as you continue to qualify.

Here's a quick look at who may be eligible for 2025:

You or your spouse were 65 or older as of December 31, 2025, OR receiving Social Security or Railroad Retirement disability benefit payments. You owned and lived in your home since at least December 31, 2022. Your 2025 income was $172,475 or less.

Applications are submitted using Form PAS-1, which also covers the ANCHOR and Stay NJ programs. The filing deadline is November 2, 2026. Renters do not qualify for Senior Freeze.

Please share this with a neighbor, parent or friend who might benefit. A lot of people miss out on programs like this simply because they didn't know they existed.

August is National Wellness Month and I just want to take a moment to appreciate how lucky we are to live in a community that genuinely supports an active, healthy lifestyle. 🌿

Between D&I Fitness on West South Orange Avenue, the South Mountain YMCA serving both South Orange and Maplewood, Blink Fitness on Valley Street and so many incredible outdoor spaces right in our backyard, there is truly no excuse not to move a little more this month. 😄

This is one of the things I love most about this area. It takes care of its people.

Big love for the South Orange Downtown Farmers Market, now celebrating its 35th season! 🥬🍓

Every Wednesday from 1 to 6PM at the Sloan Street Parking Lot, rain or shine, through October 28th, you'll find fresh local produce, artisan bread, house-made pickles, cold pressed juices, baked goods and great grab-and-go options for lunch or dinner.

This market is such a wonderful part of what makes downtown South Orange special. If you haven't made it out yet this season, there's still plenty of Wednesdays left to enjoy it.
