Next week…
48 years on this beautiful planet, and what a wild, wonderful ride it has been. 🥂
If you told my younger self everything we’d navigate by age 48, I’m not sure she’d believe it. My life started fast and beautifully chaotic, growing up with a fierce single mom and four siblings. When I was 19, our family grew even more when my mom welcomed my youngest brother. By 15, I transitioned to a second family with four brothers, and ended up graduating high school and getting married in the exact same month—it hasn’t slowed down since!
By 25, I was a mom to two incredible boys (one bonus, one biological) and welcoming my second son. By 30, I was navigating my first divorce while simultaneously opening my fourth salon and educating for L’Oréal. At 34, I retired from hair, jumped headfirst into Real Estate, and remarried. At 37, I welcomed my third son. And at 42, I navigated my second divorce, finding a whole new layer of strength I didn’t know I had.
Through every plot twist, my heart has been anchored by my boys and my community. Whether it was serving on the school councils at Eastwood, Church Hill, Cottonwood, Dilworth, and Granite District, or leading with the Women’s Council, Government Affairs, and the Windermere Foundation, seeing the impact of that service has been my greatest reward.
Last year brought one of my deepest challenges yet, as my beautiful mom moved on to the other realm. Carrying her legacy of strength, love, and resilience makes walking into this next chapter even more meaningful.
They say your “Golden Birthday” happens when your age matches your birth date. I was only 4 for mine, so I’m officially declaring 48 my Second Golden Birthday—because 4 and 8 happen to be my absolute favorite numbers. ✨
I look back at every high and every challenging low with deep gratitude. They gave me the insight, perspective, and knowledge to show up as the woman I am today.
Cheers to another trip around the sun, and to never stopping the learning, the growth, and the evolution. ❤️✨
